IRV in San Jose?

The Santa Clara County Democratic Party has passed two resolutions calling for the use of instant runoff voting in the county: one calling for its use in county elections, and the other calling for IRV in San Jose, the Bay Area's largest city. Read New America Foundation's Blair Bobier on the resolutions here. The Democrats are easily the dominant party in Santa Clara County (my home county, by the way), so this may well mean citizens of San Jose will be voting on whether or not to use IRV sometime in the near future. If they do adopt IRV, San Jose would be the forth Bay Area city to do so, following San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley.
