An instant runoff voting pilot bill was recently introduced in Maine. The bill , LD 1344, would establish a two year pilot program where up to 10 municipalities would be able to adopt IRV. At the end of the two years, the Secretary of State would report to the legislature with a recommendation for legislation based on the program. This brings the total number of states that have introduced IRV legislation so far this year to 11, with another one likely in South Carolina. Check out FairVote's IRV Legislation page to see if your state has an IRV bill.
