FairVote today made public the summary of its second survey of voting equipment manufacturers.

The information is to assist localities as they choose voting machine suppliers in preparation for the HAVA compliance deadline on 1 January.

Of primary interest in the study were:

• accessibility to the disabled, functionally illiterate and non-English-speaking
• production of a paper trail
• compatibility with ranked-choice voting methods
• compatibility with the cumulative voting method
