FairVote to Host Major Pro-Democracy Conference
Washington, DC -- FairVote, along with leaders of the country’s top electoral reform and media reform groups, are giving democracy advocates the chance to get informed, get involved, and get connected at the Claim Democracy 2007 conference, November 9th to 11th at the University of the District of Columbia.
The looming 2008 elections present major opportunities for meaningful reform, and the Claim Democracy 2007 conference will be the largest gathering in years of national, state and local leaders working to meet the immediate and future challenges of running fair elections, protecting voting rights and winning reform.
The conference will feature high-profile speakers with numerous hands-on breakouts and training sessions. Headliners will include former independent presidential candidate John Anderson, Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist, the New Yorker’s Hendrik Hertzberg, MeetUp.com CEO Scott Heiferman, Wade Henderson of the Leadership Conference for Civil Rights, D.C. city council chairman Vincent Gray, the Brennan Center’s Deborah Goldberg, former Election Assistance Commissioner Ray Martinez, former Nirvana member Krist Novoselic, and many more.
This is a great opportunity to interact with activists and experts from across the nation. Visit www.ClaimDemocracy.com for a full list of speakers and a complete conference schedule.
