As we count down the days, weeks, and hours until the presidential election we must not forget the pitfalls and perils that may afflict voters along the way. So it now time to spotlight an election protection hotline that will help voters nationwide to cast their ballots unimpeded. The National Campaign for Fair Elections is a joint venture of the Voting Rights Project and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law. This is a non-partisan voting rights coalition able to assist voters with the following voter education issues: voter registration, absentee ballots and locating the correct polling place. This week they have launched an election protection hotline 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683), which will be answered 9am-5pm EST from the Lawyers' Committee offices.
