Hendersonville, NC Requests to Re-up on IRV Pilot

Last night, Hendersonville, North Carolina's City Council voted 4-1 to request to renew its participation in the state's instant runoff voting pilot program. The request will now go to the County Board of Elections for approval. The city, along with Cary, participated in the program for city elections in 2007. Exit polls done after the 2007 election showed that city voters found the system easy to use, and that they generally preferred it to the previous two-round runoff system.
