Louisiana Bill Calls For Early Voting For All
H.B. 336, an early voting bill sponsored by Representative Wayne
Waddell, passed both houses of the Louisiana legislature and has been
sent to the governor. Under the current system, only citizens meeting
certain requirements may cast an absentee ballot in person prior to
election day. This bill will create a true early voting system by
opening this option to all eligible voters. Early voting is an
important electoral reform because it increases the number of people
who are able to vote and reduces polling place lines on election day. [Read H.B. 336]
